For the first two weeks of November we are in Switzerland. Perched on the side of the mountain in the small village of Vercorin. The views are stunning. The altitude is high and the air is dry like the desert. My long fingernails are breaking one by one.

We have been on this grand tour for almost 3 months. Eight countries visited. The AirBnb stays have been varied but overall – excellent. While traveling we’ve learned about ourselves, history and people.
People tend to be wonderful. We have made heartfelt friendships along the journey. Restaurant staff are often helpful, smiling and ready to laugh. (Ok, maybe not in Croatia, lol.) My favorite question for wait staff is, “What’s your favorite? I’ll have that.” Immediately, the staff feels appreciated and valued. The ‘favorite’ is always amazing and usually unknown to both of us. That simply question makes the meals so much more enjoyable for all.

The history has been profound and thrilling. Old cathedrals, ancient buildings, so much religious art, world heritage sites, museums, crumbling castles, old and new roads…A ‘just do it’ education of a lifetime. We are grateful for this opportunity to wander the past to find ourselves.
Ourselves are full. Exploring, eating, drinking, processing unexpected emotions – we are ‘eyes wide open to the possibilities.’ This is heart and soul opening to a new way of being. We are not sure when this grand tour shall end. We are booked into January. Curiosity keeps calling for more. Thus we heed the call, with eyes open, hearts full and vulnerable to transformation. We go on.
