I am a big believer in “when one door closes, another opens.” Change can create the catalyst for something new and a reminder to let go and keep moving forward.
As we hit the road, I have rediscovered my love of doors. Ornate, simple, sturdy, frail, weathered, well cared for, abandoned- all have a place and purpose.

I appreciate their materials, hardware, frames, textures, and colors. Grasping the worn metal handles or brushing against the wood panels, provides a connection to those who have opened the doors before. I love the way the light plays across the surface, and the shadows highlight the textures and details.

I’m fascinated by their literal and figurative transition from the past, to the present and future.

When one door closes, another opens. I am embracing change, grateful for the possibilities.
